About The Position

As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides. Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Nuclear Medicine Technology Program from an accredited institution or Graduate of Radiologic Technology Program from an accredited institution
  • Two (2) years related work experience
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
  • Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Surveys the amount of radiation given off by all radioactive dosage prescribed for the patient.
  • Assists with administering isotope therapy.
  • Performs nuclear medicine studies on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Doctor.
  • Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe, and functioning according to diagnostic standards. Peforms periodic QA and ensure requisite documentation.
  • Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed before/during/after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards.
  • Completes all clinical supply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary supplies required to perform the procedure.
