About The Position

The Nuclear Medicine Technologists of the Nuclear Medicine and/or Molecular Imaging & Therapy departments are state and nationally registered professionals who possesses the required skills and judgement necessary to obtain quality nuclear medicine studies. Additionally: The Technologist II will work under the supervision of the Technical Supervisor and the Nuclear Medicine Radiologist to perform routine and advanced nuclear medicine procedures. Nuclear Medicine Technologist II must also possess the required skills and judgment necessary to cross train into the area of PET/CT. This includes contrast administration, prevention and recognition of contrast reactions, post processing and reconstruction of exam data. Technologists are responsible for educating the patient and/or family about the procedure, administering radiopharmaceuticals, positioning patient for accurate and clear images, and providing post procedure instructions. The technologist accurately documents all patient information in the appropriate systems. All Nuclear Medicine Technologist positions may require call responsibility and rotation to hospital adjacent imaging center locations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or higher.
  • Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine program required.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years continuous experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • License Required: State of California Certified Technologist Nuclear Medicine (CTNM) license
  • Certifications Required AHA BLS Certification is required.
  • Advanced certification in Nuclear Medicine from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT-N or NMTCB-CNMT

Nice To Haves

  • Prior PET/CT experience is preferred.
  • Advanced certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (required for techs performing PET/CT)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced nuclear medicine procedures.
