This role is for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Seton Medical Center-Hays in Kyle, TX, on a PRN | Days schedule. The position involves delivering high-quality diagnostic images, administering radiopharmaceuticals, providing direct patient care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, coordinating clinical documentation, and maintaining specialized imaging equipment.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice credentialed from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT) also accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality diagnostic images as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by performing complex therapeutic and diagnostic procedures for physician interpretation.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and provide direct patient care while strictly adhering to established safety protocols and radiation protection guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes through precise positioning and accurate selection of technical anatomic factors.
  • Coordinate clinical documentation and image transfers within the EHR and PACS to ensure accuracy in patient history and data.
  • Maintain specialized imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and patient safety throughout the Nuclear Medicine Technologist workflow.
