The Nuclear Medicine (NM) Technologist performs general nuclear medicine and PET CT exams providing the highest level of customer service and image quality. The NM tech also receives, calibrates, logs, administers and monitors the decay of radioactive isotopes following appropriate policies, procedures and radiation safety practices. What you will do in this role: You will perform nuclear medicine exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care. You will receive, calibrate, log, administer and monitor the decay of radioactive isotopes. You will provide radiation safety support in the event of a radiation incident/spill You will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. You will record patients medical information You will coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete. You will inform the patient about the procedure and answer questions. You will interact and professionally communicate with co-workers, physicians, patients, and family members. You will maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in Job Qualifications. You will adhere to the facility ICARE values. You will prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments. You will prepare education the patient on discharge instructions You will demonstrate the ability to perform technical skills and procedures. You will be knowledgeable in the handling of radioactive materials. You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served. You will properly measure radioactive waste and know how to dispose of it properly in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
