About The Position

When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. The NMT II performs more complex procedures, many of which are unique to the teaching hospital environment. Individual must have knowledge of multimodality imaging, such as SPECT/CT and PET/CT. Position requires data analysis skills and the ability to tell when something is wrong or about to go wrong. Candidate must be proactive when problems surface and should take initiative in improving work processes. Work is done with minimal supervision under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, the Department Manager, and the Nuclear Medicine Physician. Rotates between 3 sites and has on call responsibility.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • License MA Rad Tech-Nuclr Med required.
  • Registration American Registry of Rad Tech required.
  • Certificate 1 Nuclear Med Tech Certification required.
  • Certificate 2 Basic Life Support required.
  • MA TEMP (Radiology MA Temp License), ARRT (N) or NMTCB CNMT certification and registration required within 1 year of employment.
  • BLS required within 30 days of hire.
  • 0-1 years related work experience required.
  • If not currently ARRT (N) or CNMT certified and registered, applicant must achieve certification and registration within 1 year of employment.
  • RAML-NM (MA Rad Tech-Nuclr Med state license) required.
  • New hires will have 30 days to provide BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs nuclear medicine diagnostic exams on patients, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT.
  • Assesses need for additional views or special positioning techniques when necessary.
  • Participates in therapy procedures.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of the Broad Scope License Quality Management Program.
  • Performs routine QA procedures on instrumentation and notifies supervisor/manager of performance issues relating to equipment.
  • Participates in the training of Radiology residents.
  • Participates in the teaching and training of students in a nuclear medicine technology program.

  • Full time status at BIDMC is considered for schedules greater than or equal to 30 hours per week.
