About The Position

The position is part-time and involves covering PTO and sick calls during the first shift, Monday to Friday, with varying start and end times. The role requires flexibility to rotate between Germantown South Clinic, Good Hope Clinic, and Mayfair South Clinic (PET CT). There are no weekend or holiday shifts, and no on-call duties. The pay range for this position is $34.90 - $52.35.

Requirements

  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) or Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registration needs to be obtained within 1 year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification needs to be obtained within 6 months unless determined otherwise by department leader.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Neurophysiology, Biology, or related field.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and radiation safety.
  • Competent in IV and venipuncture.
  • Basic to proficient ECG interpretation and heart rhythm recognition.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Competently performs basic to advanced nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including general, cardiac, therapy and PET/CT.
  • Reviews patients' medical records to obtain necessary clinical information including patient history, lab results, and physician orders.
  • Obtains medical history from patients and compares requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication by proper route per clinician prescription.
  • Competently performs venipuncture and placement of peripheral IV catheters for medication administration.
  • Accesses other vascular access devices as determined by department training and need.
  • Follows correct procedures for handling radioactive materials and implements ALARA measures.
  • Maintains accurate records of pharmaceutical doses and relays pertinent patient history information to appropriate staff.
  • Post-processes images as directed and accurately identifies and labels images.
  • Maintains records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and performs equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures.
  • Serves as a technical resource, role model and/or preceptor for students and staff.
  • Assists with accreditation efforts.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling.
