About The Position

As our Nuclear Med Technologist II , you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides. Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety. To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential. Demonstrated mastery of all Tech I Accountabilities / Responsibilities and have complete a minimum of 1 year service in the Tech 1 position

Requirements

  • Three (3) years Nuclear Medicine experience, upon hire
  • Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, upon hire or Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform in‐vitro/in‐vivo studies as outlined in the nuclear medicine procedure manuals.
  • Make determinations of the validity of the data collected before submission for interpretation.
  • Mentor new employees and students on the proper use of the camera / computer systems, study procedures.
  • Appropriately and professionally react to process or procedure deviations.
  • Assists with the formal clinical/technical education process of the department by preparing and presenting two (2) staff in‐services per year on a topical subject.
  • Independently perform all functions regarding the safe and compliant operation of the radio‐pharmacy and all associated documentation.
  • Educate and mentor qualified staff on proper radio-pharmacy procedures.
  • Maintain effective and efficient work flow while maintaining the quality of the patient care provided.
  • Participate in on‐call activities.
  • Function in a leadership role in the absence of the supervisor including the ability to open – close the department, monitor and effectively react to schedule demands, insure adequate staffing, address professional and technical staff concerns and maintain overall quality of service.
  • Maintain data back‐ups and data transfer as required by the system administrator to assure no loss of data and compliance with medical information regulations.
