Requirements

  • Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine training program.
  • 2 years experience as nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital setting.
  • One of the following: ARRT (R), ARRT (N), ARRT (T), or NMTCB.
  • Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from Texas Department of Health.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • RT Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer certification.
  • CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification.
  • Vocational School Graduate or Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned personnel within and responsible for the effective planning and operation of the section(s). Evaluates performance of employees and takes appropriate personnel action when necessary.
  • Leads both formal and informal meetings, which maximize the group's success. Fosters an atmosphere that encourages the open expression of ideas and opinions.
  • Maintains inventory and equipment service records. Works with vendors to ensure optimum uptime of equipment in his/her section(s).
  • Views work situations from a broad context and understand the complementary interdependent nature of work process.
  • Gathers and analyzes necessary data to identify relevant issues and accurately defines the problem, then formulates and evaluates alternatives prior to acting on a solution.
  • Uses resources effectively and efficiently to maintain a productivity standard as set forth by the Department Director in cooperation with administration.
  • May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.
  • Understands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goals.
  • Must learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules.
  • Adheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
