About The Position

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) to join the Nuclear Medicine Team at Bridgton Hospital! This is a part-time position, requiring 20 hours per week, and is benefit eligible. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, your diagnostic imaging specialty plays a pivotal role in providing top quality patient care. You will utilize specialized equipment, radioactive materials, and innovative procedures to achieve accurate diagnoses, which are vital in the creation of treatment plans for patients. The position also involves participation in on-call, weekend, and holiday schedules. Bridgton, Maine, offers a beautiful lakeside environment with year-round outdoor recreation activities and easy access to significant historical and cultural sites.

Requirements

  • CNMT or ARRT(N) certification required.
  • Licensed by the State of Maine as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification or due within one month of expiration required.
  • Current DOT HAZMAT training certificate renewable every three years.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
  • Performs and assists with nuclear medicine and PET/CT exams.
  • Responsible for direct patient safety and following all procedural protocols.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements.
  • Ensures adherence to Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) and American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation requirements.
  • Performs Regional Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT Support at multiple contract sites as a contract Technologist.
  • Assists in clinical instruction for Radiology and Nursing students in the field of Nuclear Medicine.
  • Maintains patient care quality standards for all age groups, from newborn to elderly.
