About The Position

Independently performs all routine nuclear medicine/nuclear cardiology procedures including SPECT imaging following prescribed protocols and procedures adhering to the NCR/state guidelines. Produces high quality diagnostic images utilizing computers to process images and access the EMR/HIS system. Responsible for daily QC, equipment and hot lab maintenance. Demonstrates competence in the assessment, range of treatment, and knowledge of growth and development, appropriate to the age and disability of the patients treated.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Program
  • Certified in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), and Healthcare Provider CPR.
  • Minimum: Clinical rotation through educational program.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Six months nuclear medicine experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality nuclear medicine exams according to established protocols and policies.
  • Adheres to federal and state radiation safety guidelines and regulations regarding patient and operator safety in the preparation, receiving, dispensing and disposal of radioisotopes.
  • Reviews and documents clinical history prior to performing exams. Completes clinical and image documentation into the appropriate systems (EMR, HIS/RIS).
  • Performs operator equipment checks including quality control testing according to established frequency.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in IV injections of radioisotopes, keeping patient discomfort at a minimum.
