This is the first level of the Nuclear Materials Specialist classification hierarchy. This is an entry level position used for new employees with little experience. Employees at this level will require very close supervision and training for basic warehouse tasks and functions. The Nuclear Materials Specialist position is responsible for executing day-to-day activities in support of warehouse operations including, but not limited to, inventory control, issues, receiving, transfers, chemical inventory and, if applicable, equipment and tools. Assuring inventory accuracy is a critical aspect of the position which includes physical inventory and chemical inventory processes. The job activity ensures the safe movement and handling of required parts and maintenance materials into and out of the power generation facilities. The successful Nuclear Materials Specialist candidate ensures work priorities are established and adhered to for those activities associated with material handling processes and systems. The Nuclear Materials Specialist will have excellent communication skills and is expected to work effectively with plant management and staff to prioritize, schedule and implement activities related with day-to-day operations and maintenance activities within the Power Generation facility. The Nuclear Materials Specialist will be a self-starter and customer-driven to support the supply chain organization and the generation plant operations customers. The Nuclear Materials Specialist will be responsible for maintaining excellent communications and relationships with supply chain site procurement and site operations to ensure the efficient flow of commodities in and out of plant inventories. There is no automatic progression between hierarchies.
