About The Position

The positions in this job family will be utilized on a limited basis for temporary rotational assignments related to career development. Responsible for effective planning, organization, direction, coordination, and supervision of the work activities of the assigned department; providing leadership, technical guidance, instruction, and training to employees; and accomplishing assigned objectives and meeting performance standards in a safe, effective, efficient, and economical manner designed to obtain maximum reliability and overall cost control of the nuclear power generation facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline or engineering technology, science, or management science.
  • Twelve years' experience in a nuclear power plant with eight years' management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to effectively direct, supervise, and coordinate the work of other personnel.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to effectively communicate and present ideas both orally and in writing, including making presentations and recommendations to senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Broad knowledge of nuclear standards and nuclear policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Physical demand level is Sedentary
  • Education, experience, licensing, and certification requirements of this position conform to ANSI N18.1 - 1971and ANSI/ANS-3.1-1993.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, lead, direct, and supervise personnel in the performance of assigned work activities.
  • Manage the recommendations regarding the review of specific improvements to processes, designs, systems, methods, procedures, or applications, including costs and benefits.
  • Manage the planning; coordination; and monitoring of the analyses, interpretation, preparation, and distribution of technical and statistical information and reports, economic studies, improvement requisitions, service orders, contracts, purchase requisitions, operational and instructional recommendations, specifications, and other documents related to the department.
  • Develop, communicate, and monitor department goals and performance standards which are consistent with the nuclear generation goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge and ensure that employees are kept informed of or involved with best practices related to the assigned department.
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with the policies, practices, standards, and rules of the Company and regulations and procedures as required by the regulating agencies.
