About The Position

As a Nuclear Field Machinist at WECTEC Staffing Services, you will be part of an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions. This role requires you to report to the site Manager for the project, with work locations primarily in the US and some international assignments. Candidates must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents. The position involves extensive travel (80%-90%) and working with and around hazardous materials. You will be required to pass a high-level background check, drug and alcohol screenings, and complete necessary training to qualify for project assignments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Two (2) years documented work experience with field machining.
  • Experience using portable drilling, boring, turning, and grinding operations.
  • CNC operated equipment experience.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in a machine shop may be substituted if verification demonstrates the setup and use of lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and precision grinding.
  • Five (5) years of verifiable work experience in the trade (Millwright or Pipe fitter) may also be substituted.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read drawings, reference manuals, and assembly instruction guides.
  • Commitment to safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid passport.
  • Ability to lift 50-60 lbs.
  • Willingness to work a 12-hour schedule on nights or days as assigned.
  • Ability to periodically work 6-7 days per week on site assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work of equal or lower skill level as required.
  • Perform field machining using portable drilling, boring, turning, and grinding operations.
  • Set up and use lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and precision grinding equipment.
  • Use precision measuring instruments.
  • Read drawings, reference manuals, and assembly instruction guides.
  • Observe and follow the appropriate industrial safety and health programs.
  • Use CNC operated equipment as preferred.
