Job Summary: As a Suspension Technician in the motorsports industry, you will be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, optimization, and repair of suspension systems and brake assemblies for competitive racing vehicles. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving vehicle handling, performance, and safety during testing and high-stakes race events. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, precision workmanship, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of suspension geometry, mechanical setup, and brake system functionality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting issues and documenting work.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong desire and ability to learn and adapt to evolving technology and procedures.
  • High level of accuracy and consistency in mechanical work.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in automotive technology preferred.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs for record-keeping and parts tracking.
  • Ability to lift at least 65 pounds independently.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds.
  • Capable of working in varying trackside conditions (heat, cold, noise).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in motorsports or high-performance automotive environments preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with suspension and brake systems strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, maintain, and service all suspension components including control arms, dampers, springs, anti-roll bars, hubs, and steering systems.
  • Prepare and install brake systems, including calipers, rotors, pads, and associated hardware.
  • Maintain and update detailed records of all suspension and brake components, including mileage, service intervals, and performance notes.
  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and reassembly of suspension and brake systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues with suspension and brake systems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure all components meet team and series specifications before installation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment both in the shop and at the track.
  • Assist race engineers and crew in setup changes and adjustments during testing and race weekends.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless vehicle preparation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisors or team leadership.
