We’re seeking an experienced Configuration Release Management professional with a proven track record of consistently delivering releases in a controlled and secure manner to join our team in Norfolk Va. as a Software Configuration Release Management Specialist. As a Software Configuration Release Management Specialist you will principally be responsible for overseeing the release management processes for the Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS). Your role is to ensure that software releases are controlled, documented, and delivered according to established procedures and standards. You will work closely with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software updates. This role adheres to the Incremental development life cycle model to manage configuration items (CIs) from inception through disposal.

  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and testers to define release schedules and content.
  • Manage CIs and ensure they are properly versioned and baselined.
  • Execute the release process, including packaging, labeling, and distribution of software releases.
  • Ensure compliance with FIAR and DoD Configuration Management standards.
  • Use Jira to log and manage change requests.
  • Communicate release results and status to project leads and other stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for improving release management processes and tools.

  • Must have a secret clearance and must be able to obtain a T5 investigation clearance
  • Possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification or higher (ex. CompTIA Security+, Network +, CISSP) or capability to obtain within 6 months from hire.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in version control systems such as Subversion (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Jira or similar issue tracking tools
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications i.e. Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
  • Familiarity with SBOM tools and compliance.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination and stakeholders and documentation.
