Basic Job Functions: Nucor Steel Nebraska is seeking applicants for the position of Quality Coordinator I. The Quality Coordinator I role is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System throughout the mill. This candidate will work to drive quality improvement and will have direct responsibility for at least one aspect of the quality management system along with other members of the QMS team. Candidate will work closely with teammates at all levels to coach and maintain QMS integrity. Candidate will be expected to drive continuous improvement projects and successfully complete lead auditor training, conduct audits throughout the mill, with outside processors, and other Nucor divisions. The candidate must be willing to actively participate in meetings and activities before, during and after regularly scheduled work hours. Must be able to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime and some overnight travel. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future). Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1-year of applicable experience with a management system program, specifically IATF 16949, ISO 17025, and ISO 9001
  • 1-year experience in industrial production
  • Auditor training
  • Two or four-year degree in relevant field

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and improving the Quality Management System throughout the mill.
  • Driving quality improvement.
  • Direct responsibility for at least one aspect of the quality management system.
