About The Position

The NSIP Undergraduate Tech Intern position at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) focuses on providing undergraduate students with hands-on experience in national security, energy, and scientific research. Interns will engage in research and development activities aimed at preventing and countering terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, specifically in the fields of nuclear, chemistry, and biological technologies. Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma/GED or higher.
  • Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate student enrolled at an accredited college or university.
  • Must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.30.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in research and development projects related to national security, energy, and science.
  • Engage in hands-on work in one of seven focus areas: Applied Radiation Detection, Analytical Chemistry & Instrumentation, Chemical and Biological Signatures, Nuclear Material Processing, Nuclear Engineering, Radiochemistry, and Nuclear Signatures.
  • Collaborate with experienced researchers and contribute to innovative solutions for national security challenges.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to support the development of new technologies and methodologies.
