About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking a dedicated NSHE Specialist 1 for its Real Estate Office. This position plays a crucial role in managing various aspects of property management, daily office operations, human resources, fiscal responsibilities, and contracts management. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently, while also adhering to the policies and regulations set forth by the university and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). This role is contingent upon funding and does not provide layoff rights, emphasizing the need for a reliable and committed individual to fulfill these responsibilities. In terms of contract coordination, the NSHE Specialist 1 will draft letters of intent and contracts based on established business points and negotiated terms. This includes negotiating and preparing all single-family residential lease property contracts, setting timelines and priorities to meet contract deadlines, and utilizing an internal contract database to maintain and monitor contracts. The specialist will also be responsible for informing supervisors of expiring contracts to ensure timely communication and action. The property management aspect of the role involves independently managing and marketing UNR real estate properties, acting as the primary point of contact for both commercial and residential tenants across over 40 residential properties and 7 commercial properties. This includes determining and initiating maintenance and repairs, collecting and depositing rent, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing rental properties. Additionally, the NSHE Specialist 1 will handle administrative and fiscal management tasks, such as creating and maintaining budget and financial records, serving as the primary administrative assistant for the division, and processing various accounts payable and receivable documents. The role also requires booking and tracking department travel and managing contractors to ensure compliance with university guidelines. Overall, this position is integral to the Real Estate Office's operations, requiring a blend of administrative, financial, and property management skills to support the university's real estate initiatives effectively.
