Requirements

  • Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in refurbishment operations, capital equipment programs, NPI execution, and project management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve refurbishment processes, NPI execution, cost control, and delivery performance.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity, including cross‑functional refurbishment and NPI efforts.
  • Leads others to solve complex technical and programmatic problems; uses sophisticated analytical judgment to identify innovative and practical solutions.
  • Impacts the achievement of customer, operational, project, and service objectives; work is guided by functional policies, business priorities, and program goals.
  • Communicates complex and difficult concepts effectively and negotiates with stakeholders to influence decisions and align on project direction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares project plans and drives projects from conception and planning through implementation, with a focus on refurbishment programs and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. Participates in the development of project strategies, refurbishment processes, and resource plans supporting both legacy and new product flows.
  • Manages project schedules and task details by utilizing project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software. Ensures alignment across refurbishment, NPI, and sustaining engineering timelines.
  • Coordinates allocated resources from within the Division to achieve on‑time and within‑budget performance objectives for refurbishment and NPI projects. Initiates and manages purchase requisitions and purchase orders supporting refurbishment builds, cleaning services, tooling, and NPI readiness.
  • Coordinates and drives refurbishment execution activities, including: Decontamination and teardown of used chambers Identification of components requiring cleaning, refurbishment, or replacement Coordination with internal teams and external vendors for part cleaning and services Tracking of used, refurbished, and scrap material within the warehouse
  • Ensures refurbishment Bills of Material (BOMs) are accurate and maintained, and that OMS build instructions and routings are updated to reflect current refurbishment and NPI requirements.
  • Drives cost and schedule performance of equipment for internal and external customers and vendors worldwide, with accountability for refurbishment cost control, NPI readiness, and schedule adherence.
  • Participates on multifunctional design teams comprised of internal, external, and/or matrixed headcount to complete refurbishment and NPI projects. Provides technical input to team members to support design for refurb, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Interfaces and coordinates within the division to define project objectives, provide regular status updates, and prepare refurbishment and NPI programs for release and deployment.
  • Provides engineering and business process expertise to teams and stakeholders on standard programs, refurbishment flows, and NPI execution issues.
  • Identifies and resolves potential complications within refurbishment and NPI projects and develops corrective actions and mitigation plans to ensure successful execution.
  • Ensures financial tracking and reporting is maintained for each refurbishment and NPI project, including material, labor, and external service costs, in partnership with finance.
