The NPI Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role oversees a team of engineers and technical staff, driving continuous improvement initiatives while aligning production capabilities with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance strategic direction with day-to-day execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related environment
- Previous leadership experience or demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and process improvement
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production documentation
- Understanding of mechanical and manufacturing engineering principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Leadership and team development capabilities
- Project management and organizational skills
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Ability to walk the manufacturing floor for extended periods
- Ability to stand, bend, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers, technicians, and support staff
- Plan, prioritize, and assign projects based on team strengths and business needs
- Drive manufacturing engineering initiatives to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across engineering and production
- Review product designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements for quality and efficiency
- Lead cost reduction efforts across assembly processes and plant operations
- Ensure projects are executed on time and within budget
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
