About The Position

As an NPI Buyer / Supplier Development Specialist, you will support new product introductions by owning sourcing, quoting, supplier selection, and early‑stage purchasing for semiconductor programs. You will work directly with suppliers and cross‑functional partners to ensure new components are costed, qualified, and production-ready. This role is highly collaborative and designed for someone who can operate with structure today while growing toward broader commodity ownership.

Requirements

  • Experienced supporting NPI programs in a manufacturing or precision components environment.
  • Comfortable working directly with suppliers and holding them accountable to quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
  • Structured, detail‑oriented, and disciplined in documentation and data management.
  • Able to work cross‑functionally in a fast-paced, customer‑driven environment.
  • Motivated to grow into expanded commodity or supplier management responsibility over time.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3–6 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, NPI buying, or supplier development within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience managing RFQs, supplier negotiations, and cost analysis.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally to meet program timelines and customer requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting semiconductor customers or semiconductor equipment manufacturers.
  • Experience sourcing elastomers, plastics, machined parts, or other precision components.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom requirements, contamination control, and material traceability.
  • Exposure to supplier qualification, audits, and quality systems such as ISO 9001.
  • ERP or MRP system experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage RFQs, cost analysis, supplier selection, and purchasing activities for new product introductions.
  • Source new components, including elastomer seals, molded rubber parts, plastics, machined components, and assemblies used in semiconductor equipment.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers capable of meeting semiconductor quality, documentation, and cleanliness requirements.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Sales to support NPI timelines and customer expectations.
  • Support tooling development, first article approvals, and transition from prototype to production.
  • Drive supplier performance improvements in quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.
  • Maintain accurate sourcing, pricing, and supplier data within ERP systems.
  • Contribute to scalable sourcing strategies and supplier development efforts that support long‑term growth.
