About The Position

The NPD Intern will assist the product development team with the design and development of architectural lighting fixtures. This role is ideal for someone early in their academic or professional journey who is eager to learn about product design, engineering, and manufacturing. The intern will support day-to-day tasks, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to team projects while developing foundational skills.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently started a degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, or a related field
• Interest in learning about product design and manufacturing
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to ask questions
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn in a hands-on environment

Nice To Haves

• Basic familiarity with CAD or design software is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

• Support the engineering team with basic design and documentation tasks
• Assist in creating and updating drawings using mechanical design software (training provided as needed)
• Help build simple prototypes and models to support design concepts
• Observe and assist with product testing and data collection
• Organize and maintain project files, drawings, and documentation
• Assist with general project support tasks, including research and material sourcing
• Participate in team meetings and take notes or track action items
• Learn and follow manufacturing and safety processes on the production floor
