Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham. Full or part time, negotiable This position will be based in Rosebud, South Dakota, in a rotating clinical calendar. Travel for multi-week blocks in Rosebud is preferred, ideally 4+ week blocks, with a minimum of 2-week blocks. The standard weekly calendar runs Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm. Some clinical events may occur in evenings, in which case the candidate will be encouraged to propose a commensurate number of hours off at another time with supervisor approval. Since 2012, the Rural Medicine Program (RMP) team, based in the Massachusetts General Hospital Division of General Internal Medicine, has partnered with the Rosebud Sioux Tribe (RST), or Sicangu Oyate, to develop clinical resources and support community health programs. The RST has a Memorandum of Understanding with the RMP active through 2027 and honored the program with a 2019 holiday entitled "Boston Doctors Day." Beginning in 2017, the RMP began to support community health programs for the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Health Administration (RSTHA). To date, over $12 million of health grants have been obtained by the RSTHA with the RMP's support. This has led to a rapid development of community health capacity. Given this rapid expansion, there is a growing need to support community-led clinical operations. Under the supervision of the RMP Director and RMP Manager, and in collaboration with RMP Project Manager and Project Coordinator, the successful candidate will provide clinical care and capacity development services to the RSTHA. The role will include opportunities to collaborate with the RST's health, public safety, and community-based organizations. The new hire will work closely with the RST, the RST community, the RMP's physicians, the RMP's Americorps VISTAs, and outside partners. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.
