About The Position

Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, they work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. APPs provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. PRACTICE SPECIFICS: Sites of service will be Virginia, Duluth, and Superior, Wisconsin. This position is a fast paced, acute walk-in care setting. Ideal candidate will have experience in Urgent Care or Family Medicine Shift: 9 am – 8 pm Monday – Friday; 8am – 6pm Saturday – Sunday 0.9 FTE Anticipated Schedule: 10 hour days, every third weekend Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives, or production-based compensation.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current NP/PA licensure in Minnesota and Wisconsin
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Minnesota and Wisconsin
  • Current certification in CPR.
  • National certification, in applicable area.
  • Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
