We are searching for a talented Advanced Practitioner for Radiation Oncology. This position is part-time, with hours of 32 hours per week from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts. The role will be based in Fairhaven and Fall River, MA.

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
  • Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required.
  • Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Physician Assistant is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
  • Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner Certificate/Physician Assistant Certificate is required.
  • Minimum one year experience as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) required.
  • At least one to two years of experience in oncology, radiation oncology, or a related specialty.
  • Certification issued by Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Registered Nurse in an expanded role required.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of designated duties and responsibilities in collaboration with individual physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to oncology patients in the outpatient setting.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and evaluations of symptoms related to cancer and radiation treatment.
  • Perform ongoing follow-up and survivorship care after the completion of radiation treatment.
  • Consult on and provide ongoing follow-up as needed for inpatients needing Radiation Oncology consultation or management while in the hospital.
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the oncologists and radiation team.
  • Educate patients on radiation therapy procedures, side effects, and potential outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing concerns relating to their cancer diagnosis.
  • Work in conjunction with radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
