About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Radiation Oncology at Emory Healthcare plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
• Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia or certified as a Physician's Assistant.
• At least 2 years of oncology APP experience preferred.
• BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required; ACLS may be required in some areas.
• Nurse Practitioner candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP) for inpatient roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients in Radiation Oncology.
• Document the delivery of care in patients' medical records.
• Conduct patient interviews and document patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems.
• Perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician.
• Assist physicians in diagnosing medical problems and developing care plans.
• Prescribe treatment and order laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
