About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) at WakeMed will provide competent medical care to patients under the supervision of a Medical Director and collaborate with healthcare providers. This role encompasses both inpatient and outpatient care, focusing on delivering compassionate healthcare while adhering to regulatory guidelines and organizational policies.

Requirements

• 1+ year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant studies required.
• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies preferred or Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina required.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support certification may be required based on clinical area of practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver competent medical care to patients at WakeMed.
• Complete referrals and consults as needed.
• Conduct daily patient rounds and document daily notes.
• Prepare discharge summaries and clinic notes.
• Perform procedures and provide pre and post procedure care.
• Prescribe medications and follow up on patient care.
