About The Position

The Emory Hematology and Medical Oncology APP Fellowship Program is a one-year program that provides a structured and supportive post-graduate training and education to hematology and medical oncology Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to enhance quality and safety in patient care and to retain exemplary staff and improve outcomes. The program is accredited with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs. The fellowship prepares fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative, and evidence-based management of complex and challenging patients in medical oncology and hematology, bone marrow transplant, and radiation oncology. The innovative curriculum covers the entire spectrum of oncology from cellular basics of cancer, including management of benign hematological disorders, through long-term survivorship. Fellows will have exposure to the care of oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings with rotations through sub-specialized clinics, allowing them to cultivate knowledge of specific oncology diseases. The clinical rotations provide fellows with both solid and hematologic malignancy encounters simultaneously, and the fellowship experience includes participation in services such as palliative care, survivorship, integrative medicine, and clinical trials.
