About The Position

Erlanger Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic Gastroenterology Unit at Erlanger Baroness. This position is a mix of inpatient and outpatient, ideal for a motivated provider passionate about delivering high quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative and innovative environment.
This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Requirements

• Masters of Science degree in Nursing (MSN).
• Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistant. BS/BA
• Licensed as an Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee
• National certification in a specialty (such as ACNP, ANP, CCNS, FNP)
• Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee (as required by specialty)
• BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward
• Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in adult GI is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the diagnosis, treatment and supportive care of patients.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her clinic.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective to the patient's status.
• Interpretation of the appropriate information is needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Nurse Practitioner's protocols.
