About The Position

Make it happen at Hopkins! The Advanced Practice Provider works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team and is responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive and age-appropriate care to both well and ill patients; educates patients and families, intervenes in acute or chronic illness, coordinates oncologic care between Unity, Sibley and Howard and other providers as appropriate; obtains appropriate patient histories and performs physical examinations. Other activities are in support of patient/family education, staff education, unit activities, and psychosocial care of patient and family. Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a state-of-the-art 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus, with its new patient tower, is also home to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, the Johns Hopkins National Proton Therapy Center, Grand Oaks -- an assisted living residence -- a medical building with physician offices and an ambulatory surgery and imaging center.

Requirements

  • Current Nurse Practitioner or PA license in the District of Columbia.
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Family, or Adult-Gerontology, or PA.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing or as a PA; prior experience as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in oncology, including knowledge of cancer treatment protocols, symptom management, and patient education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
