About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider position in MGH Gynecologic Oncology is a master's-prepared advanced practice role providing comprehensive care to women with gynecologic cancers in both outpatient and virtual visit settings. Working collaboratively with physicians, you'll perform patient assessments, manage complex care, coordinate treatment plans, and serve as a clinical resource while maintaining continuity of care for patients. Administrative responsibilities include managing in-basket communications and patient-related documentation. The ideal candidate will have oncology APP experience. This is a fast-paced, high-volume practice that offers opportunities for professional growth, education, research participation, and interdisciplinary collaboration without supervisory or fiscal responsibilities. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • Nurse Practitioner [NP - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner 0-1 year preferred
  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting
  • Performs complete histories and physical examinations
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
  • Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries
  • Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population
  • Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures
