About The Position

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our esteemed Pediatric Critical Care team within the Emergency Department. Requirements

  • Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant (PA) certification and licensure in the state of Florida.
  • Master's degree in Nursing (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant Studies (PA) from an accredited program.
  • Clinical Master's Degree in Nursing or DNP
  • Current Florida State Licensure as APRN or PA
  • Current BLS and PALS (NRP in lieu of PALS if NNP)
  • Current National Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care if a NP
  • Emergency Center ONLY- certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients in the ED.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Administer treatments and medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses.
  • Provide family-centered care by effectively communicating with patients' families, addressing their concerns, and involving them in the decision-making process.
  • Participate in medical rounds, case presentations, and educational activities to enhance team knowledge and clinical practice.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and research projects to advance pediatric critical care practices.
