About The Position

The Northern Indiana Regional Pool Manager is an outside role based in the La Grange, Indiana area, with expected travel of up to 25%, including trips to offices in Wisconsin four times a year. This position is part of a national team that manages over 1,400 dairies across 25 states. The role is critical in advancing the Cooperative's mission and strategic direction by enhancing the member-owner experience, providing superior customer service, and managing risks through compliance with dairy pool policies and standards. The position is safety sensitive and requires a strong commitment to the Cooperative's values and mission.

Requirements

  • 5 - 7 years of experience within agriculture or related industry.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Science, Agriculture, or commensurate experience.
  • Experience in developing, managing, and maintaining a large volume of farmers/customer base.
  • Practical dairy & livestock experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of organic production systems and organic certification standards.
  • Knowledge of milking equipment function and design.
  • Experience with on-farm milk quality troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in teams and independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Foster member-owner engagement, communication, and loyalty by conducting annual farm visits for each member-owner within assigned region.
  • Safeguard the business and integrity of the brand by ensuring member-owner compliance with CROPP Cooperative's policies and standards.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to member-owners on enhancing farm management practices.
  • Promote continuous education and foster a community of knowledge sharing among farmers.
  • Plan, execute and facilitate high stakes farmer meetings with CROPP Cooperative executives and farmer leaders.
  • Act as a conduit for stewarding business messages and updates to the region.
  • Manage risk by ensuring member-owner paperwork compliance and adherence to legal obligations.
  • Perform comprehensive on-farm audits.
  • Inform member-owners in advance of their IMS survey and advise on compliance actions.
  • Lead cross-departmental collaboration to enhance on-farm milk quality.
  • Serve as the point of contact for member-owner quality troubleshooting and support.
  • Oversee and analyze milk supply production levels and advise member-owners on corrective measures.
  • Communicate field intelligence that could impact milk supply.
  • Conduct evaluations of prospective farmers and provide recommendations to the Milk Management Team.
  • Participate in field days, workshops, and conferences to pursue partnership opportunities.
  • Maintain a professional presence that exemplifies the Cooperative's values.
