TURN (The Utility Reform Network) is a non-profit advocacy organization committed to ensuring affordable, reliable, and sustainable utility services for all people living in California. We advocate for equitable policies that protect all consumers, while centering the needs of lower income and BIpoc communities, through policy change, research, and grassroots organizing. TURN believes in a society where clean power, phone, and broadband are treated as basic rights for all families. TURN is seeking a Northern California Organizer who will support our grassroots organizing efforts in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and San Joaquin Valley. The Organizer will identify, train and support leaders, build and sustain regional organizing tables and engage in power building activities to advance energy, phone and broadband justice. Our ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience organizing within base building organizations working with BIpoc communities with specific expertise in identifying and developing leaders to grow the base and advance strategic campaigns. Working under the direction of the Organizing Director, the Northern California Organizer is responsible for the identifying, training community leaders and advocates, facilitating leadership development and education, co-leading issue identification, power analysis, and campaign strategy development, and will support community leaders with campaign implementation, community outreach and engagement.
