About The Position

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES develops and integrates products, engineering support, repair and maintenance services to provide value-added solutions to owners, engineers and contractors. We provide specialty contracting services through our contracting companies, and state-of-the-art proprietary products and engineering support services through our technologies company. With over 2,500 employees working from locations nationwide and in select international markets, we serve the Commercial, Public, Transportation Industrial, and Power markets to tackle the toughest construction challenges. STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is the in-house engineering business line of Structural Group. Structural Technologies is the exclusive licensee of VSL® post-tensioning systems in the United States. VSL Supply is the single source for VSL® products and technical support in the United States - which have been used throughout the world since 1956 to build, repair and strengthen bridges, buildings, tanks, and special structures. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to develop new and strengthen existing client relationships throughout the greater Northeast region. This position will require significant travel throughout the northeast region for the United States. While this position does sit remote, preference will be given to those located within the Northeast (CT, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI). As a Commercial Business Development Manager for the VSL Supply business line, you will be accountable for bringing the capabilities of VSL Supply to the Commercial market. Construction projects within the Commercial market include but are not limited to: new construction, structural strengthening, structural concrete repair, historic restoration, and building envelope and facade repair. As a Business Development professional for VSL Supply, you will collaborate with our Technologies and Operations teams to develop solutions that tackle the toughest construction challenges and meet the needs of our valued customers.

Requirements

  • Candidates who possess a Bachelor’s Degree may be given preference
  • Minimum 5 years of previous sales experience building relationships and expanding a client base in the commercial market
  • Preferably selling specialty construction services or products / services to the commercial market, to include calling on local engineers and general contracting firms
  • Strong knowledge of the market (including engineering firms, property management firms, building owners, general contractors, shell contractors, etc.)
  • Track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales goals / quotas utilizing a CRM system
  • Solid understanding of sales process with the ability to explain that process from identification of opportunity through close of sale
  • Candidates who possess previous construction or restoration experience will be given preference

Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining, and expanding business relationships with owners, engineers, general contractors
  • Participating in sales meetings, sales calls, seminar facilitation, lunch & learns, trade shows, and the development of other sales strategies and initiatives
  • Proactively managing accounts and expanding the Company's business relationship with them
  • Meeting or exceeding annual sales goals set forth by management
  • Creating, presenting, or responding to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions
  • Managing a sales process related to projects with varying levels of complexity and contract values
