Requirements

2–5 years of experience in environmental engineering, environmental compliance, or sustainability roles.
Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
Familiarity with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA).
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

Background in manufacturing, industrial, or construction environments is a plus.
Certifications such as Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Certified Environmental Engineer (CEE) are advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

Works to ensure that Norplas is compliant with Federal and State EPA regulations (air, land and water)
Provides chemical information expertise for the facility while also managing SDS and GHS systems
File EPA permit applications, manages interactions with the EPA.
Maintains operating records in accordance with Norplas’ EPA permits; Stays current with EPA regulations
Maintains calculations and records for monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and yearly emissions of paint line and assembly process
Conduct environmental audits and inspections on an on-going basis
Test, characterize, handle hazardous wastes, and be responsible for managing waste
Reviews and manage Management of Change process
Provide and conduct need environmental training the team leaders and team members
Maintain the ISO 14000 certification
Travel to other sites (80-mile radius) for environmental training or assisting other sites (0-10% of the time)
Other tasks as needed, related to environmental, health, and safety
Work on safety projects as needed
