About The Position

As a NORAM Senior Regulatory Specialist, you'll take ownership of critical compliance initiatives that protect our products and organization while ensuring we meet evolving regulatory standards. Here's what you'll do: ● Lead North American Chemical Compliance: Manage ongoing compliance with U.S. EPA TSCA, ECCC New Substance Notification, and required periodic reporting (TSCA CDR and Section 71 surveys), serving as the go-to expert ensuring our chemical inventory meets all regulatory requirements. ● Author Regulatory Documentation: Create and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and product labels for Veolia's raw materials and finished products across multiple regulatory jurisdictions, translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, compliant communications. ● Ensure Hazard Communication Excellence: Drive full North American regulatory compliance with OSHA HCS, WHMIS, and GHS standards, positioning our organization as a leader in product safety and transparency. ● Classify and Assess Hazards: Evaluate and classify products, raw materials, and chemicals for hazard assessment while ensuring dangerous goods are properly classified for transportation compliance (U.S. DOT, Canada TDG, IATA, IMDG). ● Manage Regulatory Data Systems: Leverage enterprise systems (SAP EHS) to maintain accurate regulatory, hazard, compositional, and compliance data, serving as the central hub for regulatory information across the organization. ● Review and Approve Compliance Workflows: Evaluate regulatory steps within NORAM workflow processes to ensure product and substance compliance with all local requirements, acting as a quality gatekeeper for our regulatory submissions. ● Respond to Regulatory Inquiries: Address product regulatory questions from internal teams and external stakeholders with expertise and clarity, building trust and credibility across the organization. ● Maintain Health Canada Exemptions: Manage claims for exemption with Health Canada under the Hazardous Materials Information Review Act, protecting our competitive advantages while ensuring compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in product stewardship, regulatory compliance, industrial hygiene, or EHS

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP EHS authoring systems
  • Current hazardous materials transportation classification certification
  • Advanced degree or professional certification in regulatory affairs, toxicology, or related field
