About The Position

The Department of Biology at Texas State University is seeking to develop a pool of candidates for temporary, nontenured faculty positions to teach undergraduate courses. Appointments will be made based on student demand each semester, with the possibility of teaching at both the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses or online. This position is intended for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2024/2025 semesters, and candidates will be considered as needs arise.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a master's degree in Biology or a closely related life science field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • An earned Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related life science field.
  • Previous experience teaching undergraduate courses as the instructor of record.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one to four courses per semester based on student demand.
  • Participate in annual performance evaluations for reappointment eligibility.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet departmental needs at San Marcos and Round Rock campuses or online.
