About The Position

The Sr Nondestructive Test Engineer II will work in the Non-Destructive Testing Group at Raytheon, focusing on various non-destructive testing methods to support production operations, developmental design, and failure analysis. The role requires collaboration with engineers to develop test plans and validate inspection techniques, while managing tasks within schedule and budget requirements. The position involves significant travel for supplier audits and inspections, emphasizing the need for a strong background in non-destructive testing methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in NAS 410 Level 2 or 3 Certification in multiple methods including Ultrasonic, Radiography, Magnetic Particle, and Fluorescent Penetrant Testing.
  • Experience using multiple Non-Destructive Test Methods such as Digital Radiography and Ultrasonic Testing techniques.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience interpreting and developing NDT Procedures and Technique sheets.
  • Strong background in Non-Destructive Inspection of Aerospace products including Composites, Castings, and Welds.
  • NAS 410 Level 3 Certification in various NDT methods.
  • Knowledge of MIL STD 883 & 750, JEDEC J-STD-035, IPC A 610, IPC J-STD-001.
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various non-destructive testing tasks to support production operations, developmental design, and failure analysis.
  • Audit suppliers for compliance with non-destructive testing standards.
  • Operate inspection systems onsite and conduct offsite supplier audits.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop unique test plans and validate inspection techniques.
  • Analyze and interpret testing results, communicating findings with engineering customers and documenting them in reports.
