About The Position

The Nondestructive Test Engineer II position at Raytheon involves working within the Non-Destructive Testing Group to support production operations, developmental design, and failure analysis. The role requires expertise in various NDT methods and the ability to certify to NAS 410. The engineer will collaborate with other engineers to develop test plans and validate inspection techniques, while also managing tasks within schedule and budget requirements. The position is onsite in Tucson, AZ, and involves travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 2 years of relevant experience; 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in NAS 410 Level 2 or 3 Certification in multiple NDT methods including Ultrasonic, Radiography, Magnetic Particle, and Fluorescent Penetrant Testing.
  • Experience using multiple NDT methods such as Digital Radiography and Film Radiography.
  • Active U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience interpreting and developing NDT Procedures and Technique sheets.
  • Strong background in Non-Destructive Inspection of Aerospace products.
  • NAS 410 Level 3 Certification in various NDT methods.
  • Knowledge of MIL STD 883 & 750, JEDEC J-STD-035, IPC A 610, IPC J-STD-001.
  • Familiarity with Failure Analysis equipment and ESD protection.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various non-destructive testing tasks to support production operations, developmental design, and failure analysis.
  • Audit suppliers for compliance with NDT standards.
  • Operate inspection systems onsite and conduct offsite audits.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop unique test plans and validate inspection techniques.
  • Analyze and interpret results, communicating findings with engineering customers and documenting them in reports.
