About The Position

The Non Union Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within a manufacturing facility. This position ensures that all designated areas, including production floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces, are thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained to support operational efficiency and employee well-being. The janitor will be responsible for routine cleaning tasks as well as responding promptly to any cleaning needs that arise during shifts. By upholding high standards of cleanliness, the janitor contributes to compliance with health and safety regulations and helps create a positive workplace atmosphere. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet the facility’s cleanliness goals consistently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety and hygiene standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety practices related to industrial cleaning.
  • Certification in the safe handling of cleaning chemicals or hazardous materials.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts as needed.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal in all assigned areas.
  • Sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Clean and maintain floors, walls, windows, and equipment surfaces according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations.
