About The Position
Riceland Foods and its family farmers have provided the world with wholesome, nutritious rice since 1921. Grown in the United States, our rice is known for its high quality and versatility, and that's why Riceland has become a trusted brand around the globe. Riceland is a cooperative, which means we are owned by our 5,500 family farmer members who are also our stockholders and growers. This position is responsible for issuing Purchase Orders, requisitioning purchases, and receiving supplies using Riceland Foods, Inc. purchasing system. This position also has the responsibility of buying from vendors, tracking supply inventory, supervising supply room staff, and helping other departments to find suppliers for the supply needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Issue and process purchase orders.
- Requisition purchase orders.
- Receive against Purchase Orders.
- Supervise Supply Room staff.
- Assist other departments with finding suppliers for their supplies.
- Must direct supply operations and personnel as need to ensure an efficient operation.
- Perform all duties safely and with others safety in mind.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed for efficient operation.
- Directly supervise at least three employees in the Supply Room.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, assist in hiring, and training employees.
- Planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Appraising performance.
- Rewarding and disciplining employees.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
