About The Position

Join the Sleep Lab Team at BJC Health's Alton Memorial Hospital as a Non-Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. Alton Memorial Hospital is dedicated to your growth and development. In this position, you will provide overnight polysomnographic testing for adult patients, including patient set-up, monitoring, troubleshooting equipment,scoring as applicable and more. PRN (3 shifts/6 week period) 6:30pm-6:30am Required Completed the A-STEP training program on-line AASM Modules associated with the A-STEP Program. Passed the Final online exam associated with the A-STEP Program Overview Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. The sleep department performs testing to determine the sleep pattern of an individual and a resolution to poor sleep habits that affect the lives and human body Role Purpose Provide therapeutic, diagnostic, and assessment-related responsibilities within the Sleep Lab department. Ensure quality clinical outcomes in sleep testing procedures performed throughout the Sleep Lab department. Able to accurately and efficiently complete test analysis (scoring).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • <2 years experience
  • No Supervisor Experience
  • Basic Cardiovascular Life Sup
  • Completed the A-STEP training program on-line AASM Modules associated with the A-STEP Program.
  • Passed the Final online exam associated with the A-STEP Program

Responsibilities

  • Applies electrodes and sensors to patient.
  • Prepares, calibrates, and maintains equipment.
  • Performs positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fittings.
  • Performs sleep studies, initiates and maintains various modes of therapy.
  • Recognizes and manages various respiratory conditions.
  • Scores sleep and wake stages, scores clinical events.
  • Generates reports and transfers data to the appropriate media.
