About The Position

The Non-Profit Accountant at Parents Anonymous Inc. is responsible for conducting various accounting operations and managing administrative duties related to billing and payables. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial activities within the organization, which is dedicated to supporting diverse parents, children, and youth through evidence-based programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of Nonprofit fund accounting.
• Experience with Medi-Cal billing is a plus.
• Experience in using Financial NXT nonprofit accounting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare for approval and payment all Payables for accuracy and timeliness.
• Process approved invoices and monthly bills from vendors through the Bill Pay system at the Bank.
• Prepare checks for vendors when assigned.
• Code all American Express expenses and ensure accurate receipt and documentation.
• Participate in Med-Cal Billing for Mental Health Services.
• Assist in preparing assigned documents for Annual Audits.
• Create, maintain, and utilize a SMART Task List for all Job Duties.
• Perform all fund accounting based on GAAP: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
