About The Position

Rapid City Medical Center has a Full-Time, Clinical Assistant position available. This position s upports the physician and nursing team, using professional and effective communication. Must be willing to complete Medical Assistant program and certification within 3 months of hire. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be willing to complete Medical Assistant program and certification within 3 months of hire.
  • 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Knowledge of office policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, attendance, HIPAA and personal appearance.
  • Knowledge and skill of how to operate office equipment and computers.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred, however will train the right candidate.
  • Recognition of physical exam process and ability to accurately record exam details.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively with focus on patient care and improving patient flow.
  • Professionalism and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
  • Ability to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support the nursing team as needed with duties that do not require a licensed nurse.
  • Accompany the physician or provider into the patient exam room in order to transcribe a history, ROS and exam and document accurately the physicians encounter with the patient and others present.
  • Document any procedures performed by the physician
  • Document the patient treatment plan as dictated by the physician.
  • List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions as dictated by the physician.
  • Enter patient billing information as dictated by the physician.
  • Print the notes for the next clinic day.
  • Clean and prepare medical instruments.
  • Clean and prepare exam rooms.
  • Stock exam rooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
