About The Position

The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a tenure-ineligible Clinical Instructor position in the Cardiothoracic Imaging track for a July 1, 2025 start date. The Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship will include a balanced combination of cardiovascular and thoracic imaging. This includes interpretation of CT and MRI studies of the cardiovascular system, as well as hands-on experience in the acquisition of CT and MRI cardiac images for all indications, including stress testing and pediatric and adult congenital heart disease. Thoracic imaging will be configured to provide experience in conventional radiography, CT, and MRI of the chest, with focus in pulmonary, mediastinal, and pleural pathology. The opportunity to gain extensive experience in thoracic image-guided procedures, under US and CT guidance is also available. The Cardiothoracic Clinical Instructor will actively participate in multi-disciplinary conferences with Cardiology, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Pulmonology, and Pathology; as well as in daily teaching activities through interactions with residents, medical students and clinical faculty. The Clinical Instructor will be encouraged to participate in research projects during the fellowship, with academic time granted to pursue these endeavors. Requirements

  • Candidates must have an MD or equivalent
  • Successfully completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at an ACGME accredited institution or successfully completed a diagnostic radiology residency accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
