About The Position

The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and secure transportation of individuals with medical needs. This position involves facilitating rides to and from medical appointments, discharges to home, and other essential healthcare facilities, while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• BLS Certification
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Compassionate and patient demeanor when interacting with patients and families
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in transportation or customer service
• Bilingual

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, ensuring punctuality and reliability.
• Assist patients as needed during boarding, disembarking and through the duration of the trip.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle at all times, including regular sanitization procedures.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users.
• Communicate effectively with patients and dispatchers to coordinate pick-up and drop-off schedules.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of patients at all times.
• Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with patients, providing a supportive and reassuring presence.
• Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and any incidents that may occur during transportation.
• Other duties as assigned.
