About The Position

The Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver is responsible for safely and courteously transporting patients to and from their medical appointments. This role emphasizes providing high-quality customer service while ensuring patient safety and comfort during transport. The driver will manage both on-demand and scheduled transportation needs, maintaining communication with dispatch and adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on/professional experience in providing NEMT services.
  • Completion of Wheelchair Securement, CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training with active/valid certification.
  • Knowledge of the entire Dallas Metroplex area.
  • Must be 25 years of age or older.
  • Safe driving skills with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug and background tests, including random drug testing.
  • Ability to use technology such as GPS and smartphone apps.
  • Valid Texas driver's license required.
  • No more than 1 moving violation within a 3-year span.
  • No severe citations such as DUI, DWI, or hit & run.

Responsibilities

  • Provide conscientious and friendly customer service to patients.
  • Safely assist patients in and out of vans, ensuring proper wheelchair securement.
  • Abide by all traffic laws and ensure safety at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers to provide an excellent experience.
  • Manage both on-demand and regularly scheduled transportation appointments.
  • Recognize medical situations requiring higher intervention and communicate appropriately.
  • Maintain excellent communication with dispatch regarding appointments and delays.
  • Display a professional image in appearance and actions at all times.
  • Perform daily vehicle maintenance and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Utilize GPS for locating pick-up and drop-off locations.
  • Abide by HIPAA policies.
