Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. This job primarily performs non-destructive testing (NDT) radiographic inspections (RT) on composite rocket motors. Inspects composite materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods with radiographic techniques. Requires certifications in RT Non-Destructive testing in accordance with regulations. In house part and material inspections are periodically performed using, ultrasonic (UT), liquid penetrant (PT), magnetic particle (MT), and eddy current (ET) inspection methods. These inspections can be in different locations including confined space locations.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of total experience in NDT for NDT Tech 3 or 6-10 years for NDT Tech 4.
  • 1+ years of documented hours as an NDT Level 2 inspector in at least two NDT methods.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • NAS410 qualified Level 2 classroom training/experience in radiographic methodology.
  • Willingness to work a rotating schedule between day and night shift.
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical work including lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical report writing.
  • Ability to interpret rulers, digital gauges and calipers.
  • Successfully pass a near vision eye examination, including a color vision test.

Nice To Haves

  • Radiographic and Liquid Penetrant Level 2 certifications.
  • Experience with automated radiographic inspection systems.
  • Experience with handheld UT pulse echo units and/or phased array.
  • Experience with eddy current weld and aluminum tubing inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) radiographic inspections (RT) on composite rocket motors.

  • Document inspection results clearly and concisely.
