About The Position

We are seeking a Non‑Destructive Test Equipment – Armor Inspection System (NDTE‑AIS) Operator to support the Marine Force Storage Command at Camp Lejeune, NC. This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, and supporting the NDTE‑AIS ballistic plate scanner while working closely with the Consolidated Storage Program (CSP) PMO and Government Logistics Management teams. As part of the NDTE‑AIS team, you will scan ballistic plates, determine serviceability, and ensure accurate reporting and accountability. The position requires technical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

  • A 2-year degree in a relevant field is preferred, plus 3 years of experience; or a minimum of 5 years of experience in management, logistics, information technology, or a related field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic computer troubleshooting skills, with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Proficiency with MS Office is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and handle armor plates continuously for up to 8 hours/day.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Compliance with all safety and environmental requirements, including ESOH standards.
  • Availability to provide surge support during increased mission requirements, emergencies, or short-notice events.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (mandatory).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of USMC supply/logistics is a plus.
  • Knowledge with GCSS-MC, ELMS, or another System of Record is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • NDTE‑AIS Operations Receive, handle, and prepare armor plates for various inspections.
  • Operate the NDTE‑AIS ballistic plate scanner to identify serviceable or defective plates.
  • Apply proper labels and route plates appropriately after scanning.
  • Maintain a consistent on‑site presence to support operational readiness.
  • Maintenance & Equipment Management Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on NDTE‑AIS systems.
  • Escalate maintenance issues to higher‑echelon support when necessary.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of NDTE‑AIS systems and spare components.
  • Reporting & Documentation Consolidate and submit weekly Scan Data Reports to the CSP PMO and Logistics Managers.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and presentation materials as required.
  • Collaboration & Communication Coordinate with CSP PMO and Government Logistics Management teams to support CSP inventory and scanning requirements.
  • Brief government managers when needed.
  • Communicate scanning results and maintenance findings accurately, clearly, and promptly.
